Enterprise Challenge – 2024
Back to CompetitionsThe Enterprise Challenge is a the University of Greenwich’s annual competition that provides mentoring, training and funding for entrepreneurial students who want to pursue a business idea. All students and recent graduates of up to two years are eligible to apply. Ideas are split between a Social Stream (for businesses that have a positive environmental or social impact) and a Commercial Stream (for general business ideas). |
First place: QuickSwitch
QuickSwitch is a portable device that will transfer data from an SD card to an SSD on the move, meaning photographers will never run out of space on their cameras.
The innovation allows photographers and content creators to easily free up space on their devices. Currently, if a photographer or content creator runs out of storage, they need to plug their SD card into a laptop to transfer the files to continue taking photos which is a particular issue for drone users and outdoor content creators who don’t want too much to carry. This low-cost solution allows users to transfer files quickly and efficiently anywhere in the world using a small and portable device, which will retail for an affordable £80 giving QuickSwitch a huge potential market of creatives and content creators to tap into.

Positive feedback
The Engineers in Business prize fund is a fantastic opportunity for us to provide targeted support for our thriving and expanding engineer student and graduate community. Each year we are blown away by the calibre of all ideas throughout the Enterprise Challenge, but particularly the innovation and creativity that comes from our Engineering students. The prize fund continues to be a lucrative way of encouraging our engineering students, and to help them realise that they can also be entrepreneurs.
